2012 BMW S1000RR Preview

BMW released its opinion on the S1000RR debut literbike dominant class again in Valencia, Spain. Just two years after its launch, the weight of the RR and the engine power has not changed, but BMW's engineers have developed a multitude of improvements to make our class champions much more powerful and useful in 2012.

With about 180 horsepower at the wheel, so BMW is not necessary to improve its peak power, but the company claims improved power from 5000 to 7500 rpm and better handling in its latest iteration. A shorter tower and gas spring gas lighter cover most of the updates to the engine.

Updates include a chassis frame revised slightly sharper rake and 10mm shorter wheelbase, more new pivot position of swing arm, and 20% larger air intakes at the top of the new frame rails. The improved suspension action is promised by a new internal fork and shock, the higher the piston, the latter allowing more oil to flow through the low / medium speed valve. The new control damper is adjustable to over 10 locations. The new top triple clamp design features polished. BMW says it expects to improve steering precision and feedback.

Let's test the new S 1000 RR today in the circuit Ricardo Tomo in Valencia, Spain Grand Prix circuit, the bike look cool in his new combo Alpine Racing Red and black. Also available is a new color scheme Bluefire and metallic black BMW Motorsport. His back now looks cleaner and the air box cover new sport grille opening side. A pair of fins on the side fairings promise of better aerodynamic qualities.

The S1000 is available now with a titanium exhaust system further, a GPS data logger and optional heated grips. Updated tools include a new "best lap time in progress" indicator, which meets every 100 meters to tell a rider, if he is faster than previous cycles.
