2012 Ural M70 Limited Edition Review


It has become a tradition each fall, we find limited edition series.

In November we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the legendary motorcycle factory IRBIT and the introduction of two very special: Limited Edition M70 and M70 with sidecar Limited Edition alone.

2012 Ural M70 Limited Edition

This motorcycle is a tribute to his predecessor, the veteran, the original M72. The M72 was essentially a copy of a BMW R71, the best motorcycle with sidecar. A solid, all-terrain bikes, capable of three people and heavy loads, was ideal for mobile forces.

The M72 was first built in the factory were IRBIT to the front in February 1942 and were used by troops in the Battle of Stalingrad. It was a brutal cold of november 1941. The Nazis were on the outskirts of Moscow, preparing for the attack on the Soviet capital. Meanwhile, in a small town called IRBIT, located on the eastern slopes of the Ural Mountains, 2000kms away from Moscow, a freight train came with the machines, materials and drawing boards. This train came people with an impossible task to build a factory in the middle of a Siberian winter and produce motorcycles with sidecars fought for the Red Army.
