A few days before I arrived to start the Honda CBR600F in Seville, the Spanish Government has reduced the national limit of speed to save fuel. It seemed the perfect time to launch mid-range sports bike for cheaper, cheaper alternative to the CBR600RR.
With 600 in general, more elegant, specialized and expensive, Honda has decided that there is a difference of a cheaper, more versatile inline four more traditional. Therefore, the introduction of new generation CBR600F, which aims to sports, while being practical and affordable for everyday use.

A key feature of F-bike is a full fairing. The clean lines, a low screen and walk-up line to give a misleading appearance is almost aggressive, given the state of the versatile CBR. Competitive pricing is considered crucial, which means keeping development costs to a minimum. Fortunately, Honda had a suitable donor bike on the CB600F Hornet, which provided a framework F, swingarm and engine.
For the medium series, the Honda felt pretty roomy as I leaned forward slightly in the bars. Still relatively small, slim seat and an empty weight of 465 kg., Appeared as a compact and lightweight to be manageable for most pilots. Straight-line performance was almost identical to the Hornet, a crucial difference that driving fast is much easier and more comfortable thanks to the smoothing and windshield. This bike is a class of medium, which means it wants to be revved and does not produce much power, if it is not. Things brightened up the comfort of a digital tachometer hit 7,000 rpm, the CBR suddenly jumped forward to increase the power of the engine spinning urgently towards its 13000 rpm redline.
The next section demonstrated how CBR can be enjoyable. For about 10 miles, the route of a lake in a spectacular winding, slippery asphalt ribbon, giving Honda a perfect opportunity to show his REV-happy engine and chassis beautifully balanced. Although they have a reasonably soft suspension, the bike is stable with impressive high-speed sweepers, sometimes shaking his bars momentarily, but always come quickly and without drama.
The ground clearance was not a problem, and the brakes were outstanding. The dual 296mm front discs and three-pot calipers delivered tremendous stopping power, while the standard ABS adds an extra level of security. CBR is certainly quick and agile enough to be fun.
Honda has begun to build a worthy successor to the rich, original CBR600F popular and successful. There is evidence that is exactly what is done. In fact, this new generation of hurricane seems so capable of causing a good relationship, makes me wonder why Honda did not have a model like this is a selection of all time. More precisely, it is not sold in the U.S. recession hit?
